Stardust Statue
Two hundred thousand specks of stardust converge into a statue. It surges from the void, takes form, breathes, lingers a moment, then slowly dissolves back into cosmic dust. Reach out and you can scatter it - but stardust always reconverges, sculpting the next eternal instant.
About This Work
Sculpture is frozen time; stardust is flowing eternity. Stardust Statue attempts to hold both - two hundred thousand points of light repeatedly undergo the same fate in a 24-second cycle: surging from all directions to converge into a classical sculpture's silhouette (Angel, Confucius, Centaur, or David), breathing quietly for a few seconds in formed stillness, then slowly dissolving into a sky of stardust, awaiting the next rebirth. Six color themes (Golden Stardust, Ice Aurora, Purple Nebula, Emerald Mist, Flame Core, Rose Stars) give each cycle a different emotional tone. When you open the camera and pinch your fingers, stardust scatters like startled fish - your fingertips become the center of a local storm.
